Bogota Colombia

So I'm in Bogota with my sisters and mom and dad for Thanksgiving. This is the three of us sisters. Kimberly is the one in the middle and she and her family live here in Bogota because her husband works for the Dept. of Justice. They've been here two and a half years and go back to the states in June. We thought we should all take a trip to a foreign country while we have a free place to stay. This picture is on one of their FOUR balconies on the 7th floor. They have a beautiful view of Bogota! Their apartment is twice the size of my house! We feel like we are staying in a luxury hotel! No more feeling sorry for my poor baby sister who has to live in a 3rd world country!

This is a fresh fruit & veggies market we went to yesterday. I saw all kinds of food I've never seen before. The fruit was delish! I've tried some interesting fruits that none of us know the names of. Only one of them made me want to ralph.
You might get dizzy watching this, but it gives you a little idea of what some of the smaller townships are like above the city of Bogota. In this little clip, notice the cow at the very beginning of the video. There were cows tied up to poles all along the road. People just move them from pole to pole to graze. WEIRD!! I thought the thatched roofs were cool too.

This is a picture of Tracie and I at an overlook of Bogota on our way to La Callera (the video). Bogota has a population of over 7 million! It's huge!
And the drivers are CRAZY!!! I have to close my eyes when I ride with Kimberly. I would never be able to get around this town in a car! There's really no lanes, people just drive each other off the rode and squeeze in where they can. The motorcyclists drive in between the cars wherever they can. One hit Kimberly's mirror yesterday. It's nuts! I tried to capture a picture, but you just can't get a feel for it until you're in it!!My girls will love this one. These guards are posted around different buildings in Kimberly's neighborhood because the man who is running for president lives near them. They are very nice and were willing to let us snap a picture with them.

Hey! What is your email address. We can correspond via email about Kailey's apartment for the fall! I'd love to help you out! Most of all, you'll have to come see me when you bring her down to college! In fact, you could stay at my place if you'd like. We do have an extra bedroom! I can't believe how fast time flys! I will look forward to hearing from you soon!
