I have never seen so much lightning and heard so much thunder! These last few weeks we've had some incredible storms! Last Wednesday night the kids were supposed to go waterskiing for mutual, but a big storm erupted as they were getting ready to leave. It ended up pouring rain for about an hour that flooded streets and some homes. Quite a few homes near our neighborhood had their basements flood. I think that night was considered a flash flood in parts of the town.
A few nights ago the thunder was so loud that it made the house shake. The lightning seemed like it was right on top of us and it would spiderweb across the sky like I've never seen! Quite an amazing sight! Too bad I was nervous about the dry sage brush hill beside us to sleep most of the rest of the night!! Here's a little video Loryn captured with a lightning strike.
There's been quite a few fires in the area caused by the lightning. Last night it was quite a sight to see the area above Fancher Heights in East Wenatchee all aglow with flames. Luckily no structures were burned in the fire.
