Oregon Coast Trip

The first week of July 2010, we went on a family vacation to the Oregon Coast.  We couldn't decide where to go until a few days before we were supposed to leave.  When we decided on the Oregon Coast, I emailed a few rental places in Lincoln City to see what we could find on the beach, not thinking we'd be able to get anything.  We ended up staying at a place called the Purple Moon.  IT WAS AWESOME!!!  It was right on the beach, a short 10 steps down some stairs and we were in the sand!!  It had big windows that looked out over the ocean!  And even better, since it was a mid-week stay, we got a great deal;  only $150/night!!  Here's a picture of the view out the front windows.
This is a picture of the front of the house, standing on the beach.  We were on the middle and top floor.  There is another condo below us.

Views of the inside of the condo...

We thought it was funny that the bedspreads were the same as mine and Craig's at home!
This is the couch that looked out the front windows and made into a bed.  Craig and I chose to sleep on it, since it was so beautiful at night and in the morning to look out the windows across the ocean.
We spent lots of time beachcombing!

Sunset on the ocean!!
I don't have pictures, but we spent an afternoon at the Lincoln City Outlet Mall.  We found some great deals!!
We went to a family fun park and did bumper boats...

And we raced bumper cars...

And then we went for a sand dune buggy ride!!  It was great!!

Then on our way home, we went over to Silver Falls State Park in Oregon (somewhat near Bend).  There is a hike that takes you to 10 waterfalls ranging from 177 feet to 27 feet throughout the park.  We hiked to 7 of them and it took us about 2 1/2 hours.  Then we drove to two others and skipped one because the girls were pooped and sick of hiking.
This picture is taken behind one of the waterfalls.  There were 2-3 falls where you could walk underneath and behind the falls.  It was pretty amazing

You can see people behind this waterfall.  Several of the falls had large rock formations that you walked under to get behind the falls.

Craig and I loved the hiking and the beautiful waterfalls.  If you've never been there, it's a great park with overnight camping areas, a lodge, a swimming area in the river, and even a little gift shop!  It would be a fun family reunion spot if you all liked to camp!
